Eva Courtright, You Will Always Be in Our Hearts
A long-time friend of APNM and determined animal advocate, Eva Courtright of Albuquerque, died last week, after complications from lung cancer, even though she never smoked. Eva will be remembered for her incredible optimism, her hilarious sense of humor and quick wit, her refusal to be brought down by the very tough breaks life dealt her, and her deep love and appreciation for animals.

Circa 1993, Eva and APNM friends help launch awareness of the federal government’s programs that kill wildlife with tax dollars.

Eva gives her enthusiastic approval to APNM’s compelling factory farming/vegetarian outreach booths at the New Mexico State Fair. |
Eva was a member of APNM for decades, and was a stalwart volunteer at work parties, yard sales and outreach events. Eva practiced in her daily life the principles of animal rights by living a life of compassion and encouraging others to do so as well. Eva was famous for always spreading the message of animal rights through any one of numerous t-shirts she sported wherever she went.
A memorial service will be held for her on Sunday, May 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the North 4th Art Center, 4904 4th Street NW, Albuquerque. Friends are encouraged to attend and share their memories of Eva with other friends.
Eva will be sorely missed by the many APNM staff and volunteers who were blessed to know her and her wonderful, optimistic spirit.
Eva’s family has recommended APNM as one of four organizations to which people can donate in her honor. Contributions can be made online at
