The Winners are In!

Bindy the Donkey is the 2011 Milagro Award Winner in the Animal Award Category, which honors exceptional animal courage and intelligence. Come to the 2011 Milagro Awards to show your support for this animal hero as well as human heroes for animals! Photo: Jessi Princiotto.

APNM is gearing up for its 2011 Milagro Awards! Since 2000, APNM has been “catching people in the act” of doing good things for animals, and recognizing them for their humanitarian efforts at the Milagro Awards. APNM received MANY great nominations this year.  It takes a lot to win a Milagro Award, and this year’s nominees have done a lot. APNM established an award selection committee whose members spent hours reviewing the inspirational work of the nominees. The decision-making was tough, but the winners have been selected and notified.

Please consider joining us at the ceremony, to be held on October 1, 2011 at 5:00 PM at the Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe.  As a seated guest at a table, you will be treated to short videos that highlight the winners’ contributions. Award winners will receive a handcrafted sterling silver medallion imprinted with the paw or footprint of an animal appropriate to the winner. Milagro medallions are designed by San Juan Pueblo silversmith, Andrew García.

Tickets are $100 each and include an extraordinary vegan dinner with an authentic Aztec theme, two drinks, a special tasty gourmet gift, music by the UNM Jazz Quartet, and, most importantly, the company of this year’s heroes for the animals. To purchase a ticket to this important event, go to www.apnm.org/milagro and click on “reserve your seat.”
