KIND NEWS PROGRAM:
Teaching kindness and compassion to our youth

For many years, APNM has provided elementary school students in dozens of New Mexico communities with the award-winning, colorful and informative monthly newspaper called KIND News, which is published by the Humane Society of the United States.

Every month during the school year, each student receives this newspaper filled with fun activities and lessons about the importance of caring for animals and the environment for just $25 per classroom subscription. In addition, the teachers receive a teaching guide, KIND Teacher magazine, KIND ID cards for students, KIND calendar announcements, and a classroom poster.

Following are the pure and simple words of just three elementary school students among thousands across New Mexico who are learning about the value of animals and nature through KIND News:

“Thank you for our KIND News newspapers. We like the activities. We learn about taking care of animals.” – Your friend Dominic

“Thank you for protecting the animals so they can live. And thank you for paying for the newspapers for our class.” – Yours truly, Taylor

“Thank you for showing us how to take care of animals. I love nature because I am a nature girl.” – Your friend Talyn

It’s hard to find anything more worthwhile than teaching children to be kind to animals and each other. We are hopeful that by teaching compassion, future generations will be more likely to embrace drastically improved attitudes toward animals and how they should be treated.

Due to your generosity, APNM is providing KIND News to 270 classrooms this year in towns such as Albuquerque, Bayard, Bloomfield, Crownpoint, Deming, Española, Farmington, Gallup, Grants, Lordsburg, Santa Fe, Shiprock and Tohatchi. That means that KIND News’ message of compassion is reaching as many as 8,640 students every month!

APNM relies on your generosity to subsidize these classroom subscriptions. Will you sponsor a classroom’s one-year subscription to KIND News for $25?

Please visit click here to make a donation (within the list of options for donations, please fill in the box next to “$25 per classroom for KIND News” with an amount in $25 increments.)

Every child is a potential lifelong ambassador for animals. Thank you for helping to create communities learning lessons in kindness.
