Our Holiday Schedule and Warm Wishes!

As the end of 2024 is approaching, we are reflecting on all of this year’s achievements and progress won to protect animals in New Mexico, as well as feeling gratitude to all those who make our work possible. The winter holidays provide the perfect time to pause, recharge, and spend time with loved ones before embarking on the new year.

The offices of APNM and APV will be closed from December 25 through January 1.

We will respond to calls and messages after we reopen Thursday, January 2.

Some APNM service programs will be closed earlier—here is more information:

Reporting Suspected Animal CrueltyThe Animal Cruelty Helpline will be closed December 23, 2024 – January 2, 2025. If you need help addressing urgent animal needs during this time, visit our website for more information on who else to call.
Domestic ViolenceThe CARE program will be closed to new applications starting December 21, 2024 until Thursday, January 2, 2025. If you need assistance or referrals through December 24, please call the CARE Helpline at 505-533-CARE (2273).

The CARE Helpline will be closed December 25, 2024 – January 1, 2025, and will reopen (and accept new applications) starting on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

If you need assistance urgently, you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233), visit DomesticShelters.org, or reach out to the resources posted on our website for help.

Equine AssistanceThe Equine Protection Fund and Helpline will be closed December 21, 2024 – January 1, 2025. We will start taking calls and applications again Thursday, January 2, 2025.  For more information on this program, visit our website.

(Media inquiries from the press: please send a message to media@apnm.org)

We look forward to returning in 2025 to keep fighting for animals and all of the New Mexicans who love and care for them. We wish you a happy holiday season and thank you for your support of APNM, APV, and the animals of New Mexico.
