Privacy Policy

Animal Protection New Mexico (“APNM”) respects the privacy of members and website visitors. Because protecting your privacy is important to us, we created this policy to communicate our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. This policy applies to personal information collected or processed through our website and applications, including apnm.org. This policy does not extend to any external sites. Please check with those external sites for their policies regarding data privacy, including the possible use of cookies.

Information that we collect

We collect information that you provide to us through third-party service providers. Examples are when you donate through our third-party payment processor and/or automatically through your use of our website. The information we collect includes personal information that identifies you. We collect information such as your name, e-mail address, and mailing address, and/or mobile phone number.

Uses of information

We may collect personal information in connection with signing up for newsletters, making contributions or downloading our literature. We may use your personal information to send you details about opportunities to support APNM. If you opt in to receive text messages (“SMS”) on your mobile phone, we will use the phone number to send you information via text. Although we do not charge for this service, standard messaging and data rates may apply. Your personal information may be used to provide, analyze, administer, and improve our website and activities; to identify and authenticate your access to the parts of our website and services that you are authorized to access; to protect our rights or our property and to ensure the technical functionality and security of our website; and as necessary to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We may disclose personal information to the following third parties like our service providers. We utilize service providers to assist us in providing our website. For example, we use service providers like Salsa CRM, Salsa Engage, CardPointe, PayPal, Greater Giving, Classy, New Mexico Foundation, Square and Google Analytics. We may disclose personal information at the request of law enforcement or government agencies or in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process to establish, protect, or exercise our rights or to defend against a legal claim or as otherwise required or allowed by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any other person. We also may disclose personal information to investigate or prevent a violation by you of any contractual or other relationship with us or your unlawful or harmful activity.

Accessing or updating your personal information

Unsubscribing from communications

All e-mail messages from APNM include the option to unsubscribe or modify your preferences. You may subscribe to or unsubscribe from e-mail communication from us at any time. If you sign up for our SMS program, please follow the instructions to opt out at any time which may include replying STOP via SMS. If you have any questions about unsubscribing, please contact lrudloff@apnm.org

Protecting personal information

We protect the information gathered through our website. Our website have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information under our control. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is absolutely secure.

Privacy Rights

Your state’s laws may give you the right to file a complaint regarding your privacy rights. Before filing any such complaint, please reach out to the email address below first so we have an opportunity to assist you. If you are a California resident, you are allowed to request information regarding the disclosure of your personal information by us to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes.
